Hello, my name is Lucia Grauman. I am a licensed psychotherapist in private practice, with offices in Oakland and San Francisco. My graduate degree, from Columbia University, is in Clinical Social Work, with a concentration in Mental Health. I have been practicing counseling and psychotherapy for over 15 years, most recently in my private practice in New York City, where I worked with individuals, couples, families and groups, with various mental health concerns and life stressors.
My specialty areas include: Anxiety and Depression (concerns about mood); Relationships (romantic, familial, friend, work); Use/abuse of alcohol, drugs or other substances; Sex/love addiction; Codependence; Grief/loss; Life change/transitions; Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Anger management.
Working in this profession, I’ve come to understand that we are all “perfectly imperfect”. Yet, we all struggle to accept our innate imperfections, which fosters feelings of shame and a great deal of pain and suffering. I work alongside my clients, as a therapist and as a human being, to embrace my strengths as well as my imperfections. I believe this makes me a more effective therapist. Ultimately, I create a safe and trusting environment, where exploration of the self and one’s relationships will prove enlightening and transformative.
